This is one of my characters for the #OYIC group! I'll be making one more that goes along with this character. I only lined her head shot and body in this picture. The head, face and hair on the main body are just the sketchy lines because line art just was not coming out right for me tonight.

Okay! Character stuff:

Name: Holli Therda
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Occupation: Witch and traveler

Personality: Holli isn't exactly a people pleaser, but she isn't a big fan of confrontation or arguments. She is very polite, studious, cautious, easily embarrassed by the actions of those around her and very, very passive aggressive. She doesn't pick up very well on humor so she comes off often times as naive. She never works well under pressure and often gets nervous when people watch her do magic or tell her to hurry up about something. Because she possess no defensive spells she is a little bit dependent on those around her to do a lot of the dirty work, but that makes her very loyal to those who help her. Holli has strong convictions, and while she avoids confrontation at all cost if push comes to shove she will push right back, at least verbally.

Background / History: Holli was born in a world full of islands, trade and magic. She came from a middle class family of witches and wizards and worked very hard at being good at what she does. In her teen years Holli took up travel was a way to broaden her studies and eventually came to own a book entitled Universal Magic and How to do It. The book proved very helpful to Holli, though odd. The book itself was more then an ordinary spell book, for half the time the pages were blank, or switching order or in languages Holli couldn't read. When it began to fly around after her Holli realized that she had better use her bond with the book to teach it just as it taught her.

The more she traveled, the more Holli got the sense that she was being followed. It wasn't until she was almost violently robbed in a trade port that she began living on the run. She acquired a sail boat and began moving around constantly. She looked into the darker portion of the book's spells and found one that offered her powerful protection. Disregarding the warning the book spelled out for her out of fear for her own life she performed it.

The result was the inability to ever cast defensive spells again, but in return she had summoned a lanky, immortal, mythical creature of a man. Their personalities clashed terribly but he was bound to protect her and so now the pair travel her world, making a living and performing tasks the book sporadically demands of them.
